Day 1: Arrival & Irente Viewpoint Hike

Your adventure begins with a scenic walk or optional drive to the Irente Viewpoint, where you’ll enjoy panoramic views of the Maasai Plains and Mazinde village nearly 1,000 meters below. En route, visit the Irente Biodiversity Farm, known for its organic produce and tranquil garden setting.

Day 2: Magamba Rainforest to Malindi Village

After breakfast, begin your trek into the Magamba Rainforest. Along the way, explore a historic German military trench from World War I and learn about the colonial history from your guide. Continue your hike via Lukozi village to Malindi village, passing through rich forest terrain and rural landscapes.

Day 3: Malindi to Rangwi Catholic Mission

Start the day with breakfast before trekking through fertile valleys and gentle hillsides dotted with banana groves, eucalyptus trees, and local vegetable farms. Pass through the charming villages of Makose and Kagulio, gaining insight into everyday life in the Usambaras.
Dinner and overnight: Sister’s Hostel at Rangwi Catholic Mission.

Day 4: Rangwi to Mtae via Shengayu Forest

Following breakfast, hike through Sunga village, the lush Shengayu Forest, and the agricultural village of Mamboleo. These communities are renowned for their innovative soil conservation and traditional irrigation practices, such as stone and bench terraces. Your guide will share insights into the sustainable farming techniques and lifestyle of the Shambaa people.
Dinner and overnight: Missionary Hostel, Mtae.

Day 5: Departure to Arusha

Rise early for breakfast at 6:00 am. After checking out, you’ll board a local bus or arranged transport for your journey to Arusha City, where you’ll have time to unwind and prepare for your next adventure, whether it’s a safari or a Mount Kilimanjaro climb.
Dinner and overnight: Hotel in Arusha (optional; not included unless booked).
